Grinder’s menu items are perfect for all ages of the family, especially notorious picky eaters.

In the mood for authentic Mexican cuisine?  If so, Green Onion Mexican Restaurant is the solution for your growling tummy. About 2-3 minutes from the Port of Los Angeles, this restaurant offers dishes such as carne azteca, machaca, chili verde, enchiladas and more. With menu items costing as low at $2.50, you will be able to save on budget, but not on your voracious appetite. Green Onion Mexican Restaurant is open till 9:30 at night, fitting for starving cruisers when their vacation ends.

With San Pedro’s Whale & Ale restaurant, you don’t need to go to London for a taste of British eats. About 3 minutes from the Port of Los Angeles, this pub offers bangers & mash, shepherd’s pie, sautéed Alaska sand dabs and other delicious meals. Of course, there is plenty of beer and wine. Careful not to overindulge – you have a cruise to go on!

Although this “floating café” is the furthest restaurant from the Port of Los Angeles on this list (it’s located 8-9 minutes away ), the Chowder Barge is still close enough to feed your hungry self! The restaurant was first built in 1934 as a support vessel for “Mutiny on the Bounty” and was ousted in late 1988 for the Port of Long Beach expansion. In addition, popular TV shows have been filmed there such as Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Wanted, Inherent Vice and Sunken City. Scrumptious seafood will be served, including grilled salmon, steamed clams or mussels, clam chowder and more. Prices are pretty affordable as each menu item is under $15.00.
